The Corpus Christi Hammerheads are a professional indoor football team from Corpus Christi, Texas. They are a member of the Southern Indoor Football League.


The Hammerheads were a charter member of the Intense Football League.

They played their home games at the Memorial Coliseum in 2004 and at the American Bank Center in 2005 and 2006, both of which are in Corpus Christi, Texas. However, the team did not return to the American Bank Center for 2007, as their arena decided not to renew their lease. Plus, it was the home of the af2 team, the Corpus Christi Sharks.

The Hammerheads did return, however, playing in the Central Pavilion Arena in nearby Robstown, Texas. After the Sharks folded, the Hammerheads announced they were returning to the American Bank Center for the upcoming 2010 season.

After the 2010 season, Chad Dittman decided to move the Hammerheads from the Indoor Football League to the Southern Indoor Football League for the 2011 season, Chad Dittman is also going to own a Franchise in Rio Grande Valley and they will also play in the Southern Indoor Football League.
